Born in 1934,Jean joined a circus at the age of 14,and began a theatrical career. From this modest beginning by the 1950's having toured most variety theatres in th U.K she became one of the famous Windmill Theatre Girls in the West End of London,working with such greats as Harry Secombe and Bruce Forsyth. In the 1970's she spent some time in the U.S.A and was a regular on the Joey Adams TV show "coast to Coast". In the 80's she also became a regular in 'Hi de Hi' and 'Eastenders'. 1990 was when Jean started painting seriously, she attended Central St Martins in 1994 and achieved a Design Diploma, she then went on to West Hertfordshire College of Art and Design. In 1996 she received a City & Guilds in Ceramics at West Hertfordshire. Then in 1997 she studied fine art at The University of Hertfordshire and graduated in 2002. In 2003 she was invited to become a Fellow of The Digswell Art Trust. Jean has taken part in many exhibitions in which some were solo she also won 2nd prize at the Maynard Gallery.
