John Harvey

John Harvey was born in 1935 in Plymouth Devon. After a career in printing and commercial art he studied Fine art at Camberwell School Of Art,and subsequently taught art before retiring early to concentrate on his own work. John Harvey lives in Penzance and paints a range of subjects taken from his surroundings.His interest is in light and colour,small scale works and studied are generally painted on the spot which necessitates working for long periods at the same time each day. Large more considered paintings are worked from drawings and colour studies in the studio. webbs Road Fine Art has represented Harvey's work since 2002.
