Lucille Cranwell

New Zealand artist Lucille Cranwells paintings have been enjoyed in many places. New Zealand, America, Germany, Italy as well as in her adopted home, England. Their signature tune is often a background of old buildings. Exteriors/interiors are vivified and brought up-to-date by scenes of the everyday people who occupy them.

The somewhat quirky and whimsical works are characterized by an effectively angular line of vision and fresh luminous colours she works mainly on paper in watercolour and on canvas with acrylics.

Through her career she has continued to draw from life both the male and female body and she has produced a series of sketches in charcoal, pencil and wash.

Her work is held in the collections of Al Pacino, Elaine Paige, The Home Office, and Baron Nicholas de Piro.

Lucille has recently become a member of Chelsea Arts Society
