Marcel Gatteaux
Born 1962 in London. Studied drawing and painting from an early age. Following Camberwell Art School, he undertook a long apprenticeship to become a restorer, graduating in 1986. He has been exhibiting since 1987, whilst continuing his restoration work. Marcel has held an annual one-man exhibition at Caelt Gallery for the last nine years. Gatteaux's love of the hot vibrant landscape of the Mediterranean region follows a tradition started by the early Impressionists. It is his exceptional ability to recreate the colour and heart of Southen Europe, together with a clear understanding of balance and composition, that has given him such a wide and enthusiastic following.
